Sustainability Report of the Brazilian Aluminum Industry 2006/2007
Summary:

Economic development, social responsibility and environmental protection make up the tripod of references that join ABAL´s members. Therefore, competitiveness increases and the value of building a responsible future comes up naturally and with determination.

The purpose of this report is to show the Brazilian Aluminum Industry´s  performance, its investments and its impact on society at large during the years of 2006/2007. For this end, we took in consideration economic results and sustainability indicators specific to the aluminum industry, defined in the global initiative “Aluminum for future Generations”, in addition to the most utilized indicators in Brazil to evidence social and environmental data, such as those in the model created by The Brazilian Institute for Social and Economic Analyses (IBASE, in Portuguese).

Sustainability Report Aluminum Industry
Synthesis:
Pioneer publication that shows the efforts of the aluminum industry and its goals to the sector in order to become even more sustainable. The publication aims to clearly and understandably present to society the challenges and actions of the sector in relation with the economical, social and environmental aspects of the production chain of primary aluminum. The report is aligned with the program Aluminum for Futere Generations, developed in 2003, by the International Aluminium Institute - IAI, that reunited companies all over the world.
